Great report. You have some great place names in your neck of the woods! I sympathize with Jerry's computer issue. I simply couldn't tolerate a discrepency without an explanation. Besides one system being less accurate, there is always the issue of slight variances in the routes taken by each cyclist. Wider turns or the occasional double-back over 27 miles could account for .1 or .2 miles of difference.

I've been meaning to do that route of yours, but haven't yet. Maybe next week. That little bump can be unsettling when taken at 30 mph -- but now I'm used to it, and I unweight a bit just before I hit it.

Convict hill area has some nice hills! I found them via your blog when i started riding. I am too chicken to get on mopac.
You might want to try this route for some good safe hills .. I ride it at night mostly . The north side of 290 is a mostly downhill coming back. The hill on the backside of pinnacle is a killer. http://g.co/maps/r8jzu

Nice!

If you want any help, virtually at least, you have my email :)

My next thing for the Raleigh is to swap out the handlebars that are entirely too narrow. Makes it hard to ride longer distances, actually. When I ride it to work it's a 34 mile round trip.
