I don’t do it while I’m riding the bike, but I’ll stop and wipe the tire right away if I ride through some broken glass.
Nice post, Ultra Rob.

I actually tried this today (twice), having never even heard of it before your post. I went through some loose crap on the road and once I was out of it I reached forward and wipe my tyre with my glove. I didn’t get any flats, but I don’t think I would have anyway.
Not sure I’d bother doing it again.
No one knows for sure if this works, because you can’t tell if you would have gotten a flat if you don’t wipe. We used to attach wires to our brake bolts that scraped the tires gently. The theory was that a thorn or glass shard could catch in the first rotation but not puncture it. The tire saver would knock it off before the second rotation. They have fallen out of popularity, probably because they don’t work.
Nice post about Should I Wipe My Bike Tire While Riding?
i like it, keep up the good work
